Diesel sube 37 centavos y deja atrás el alza de tarifas reefer
Según DAT, la tarifa spot reefer subió 9 centavos esta semana, llegando a $3.59 por milla, mientras el diesel se disparó 37 centavos en el mismo periodo.
Los volúmenes también crecieron: DAT reportó 2.9 millones de publicaciones de carga la semana del 13 al 19 de septiembre, un alza de 16% respecto a la semana anterior, señal de que la demanda está regresando antes de lo esperado.
El problema es el margen: si el costo de combustible sube casi cuatro veces más rápido que la tarifa, el driver absorbe la diferencia salvo que su recargo de combustible esté bien calculado y actualizado.
Qué debes hacer: revisa el recargo de combustible en tu próximo contrato o carga antes de firmar, compara contra el precio de diesel de esta semana, y si no cubre el alza real, negocia o rechaza la carga.

Volumes also grew: DAT reported 2.9 million load postings for the week of September 13-19, up 16% from the prior week, signaling demand is picking back up earlier than expected.
The problem is the margin: if fuel costs rise nearly four times faster than the rate, the driver eats the difference unless the fuel surcharge is properly calculated and current.
What to do: check the fuel surcharge on your next contract or load before signing, compare it against this week's diesel price, and if it doesn't cover the real increase, negotiate or turn the load down.
